The release date for the English version of 'The Hobbit' by
J.R.R. Tolkien is Aug 2002. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.
A hobbit dwelt in a hole in the earth. It was a hobbit-hole, which is to say comfortable. It wasn't a filthy, unclean, damp hole with worm ends and an oozy stench, nor was it a dry, naked, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit on or eat.
The Hobbit, which was written for J.R.R. Tolkien's own children, was instantly praised by critics upon its 1937 release. This introduction to the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, the wizard Gandalf, Gollum, and the magnificent land of Middle-earth is now considered a timeless masterpiece. It tells the story of the adventures of a reluctant hero, a potent and deadly ring, and the ruthless dragon Smaug the Magnificent. This 372-page paperback edition has a note by Douglas A. Anderson (2001) on the text, which is based on the original version that Collins Modern Classics released in Great Britain in 1998.
