Kindly, Reader
For your own benefit, I hope you haven't picked up this book because you're looking for a fun read. If this is the case, I strongly suggest that you put this book down right now since The Miserable Mill may be the unhappiest book yet that chronicles the miserable life of the Baudelaire children. When Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire are sent to work at a lumber factory in Paltryville, they discover that tragedy and calamity are hiding behind every log.
I regret to notify you that the contents of this book include things like a gigantic pincher machine, a nasty casserole, a guy who had smoke coming from his head, a hypnotist, a horrible accident that left him hurt, and coupons.
If you would like more wonderful tales, feel free to choose another one; I have promised to put down the whole history of these three impoverished children, but you haven't.
With the utmost respect,
Citrus Snicket
