The release date for the English version of 'The Slow Regard of Silent Things' by Patrick Rothfuss is Oct 2014. If you enjoy this novel, it is available for buy as a paperback from Barnes & Noble or Indigo, as an ebook on the Amazon Kindle store, or as an audiobook on Audible.

There's a gloomy spot underneath the University. There's a jumbled network of old passages and deserted chambers that not many people are aware of. Nestled in the center of this abandoned realm, within the vast tunnels of the Underthing, is a young lady.

Auri is her name, and she is a mystery woman.

Auri's existence is briefly and bittersweetly seen in The Slow Regard of Silent Things, a little journey of her own. This novel gives you the opportunity to observe the world through Auri's eyes, and it's both joyful and eerie. It also offers the reader the opportunity to discover information that only Auri is aware of.

One of the most intriguing characters from The Kingkiller Chronicles is introduced to us by Patrick Rothfuss in this book. The Slow Regard of Silent Things, a book filled with mysteries and secrets, tells the tale of a shattered girl attempting to survive in a broken world.

THE AUTHOR'S PREFACE

You may decide not to purchase this book.

I am aware that an author shouldn't mention anything like that. This is not going to sit well with the marketing folks. My editor will get quite upset. However, I'd want to be forward and honest with you from the start.

First, if you haven’t read my other books, you don’t want to start here.

The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear are my first two novels. Start there if you're interested in reading my work. They provide the greatest overview of my universe. This book deals with Auri, one of the characters from that series. You're going to be feeling a little adrift without the background provided by those novels.

Second, even if you have read my other books, I think it’s only fair to warn you that this is a bit of a strange story. I don’t go in for spoilers, but suffice to say that this one is ... different. Many of the characteristics that make a classic narrative great are absent from this one. Furthermore, here is not where you'll find a continuation of Kvothe's plot.

However, this narrative has a lot to offer if you'd want to know more about Auri. If you love words and mysteries and secrets. In case you're interested in alchemy and the Underthing. If you want to know more about the hidden turnings of my world...

Then you might like this book.
