a lighthearted, flirtatious adolescent novel about a phoney romance and true love from Wattpad sensation Alex Light. Ideal for admirers of Jenny Han.

Becca Hart, then seventeen, hasn't believed in genuine love in years. But Becca acts impulsively, pretending she's been seeing someone secretly when her former best friend makes fun of her for not having a partner.

It's all Brett Wells. He should have no trouble getting a date since he is the football team captain and one of the most popular men in his school, but he has never been more concerned about the future than the person he will date.

Brett chooses to intervene and take on the role of the mysterious man after hearing Becca lie. It's the ideal resolution: she can continue to pretend to have a partner while he gets off his back for not having a committed relationship.

It's difficult to act like the ideal pair, however, particularly if you don't really know one other. They soon discover, however, that they have more in common than they could have ever dreamed, with Brett barely keeping his world together and Becca still having to pick up the pieces after her world fell apart years ago.

They have to decide whether this fictitious relationship is the most genuine thing in each of their lives as the boundaries between reality and fantasy start to blur.
