The Violin Conspiracy

Ray McMillian was up in a rural North Carolina upbringing and already had a predetermined existence. He could be fortunate enough to get a job at the hospital cafeteria. With really good fortune, he will make more than the minimal salary. But Ray is a gifted musician with a lofty goal of becoming a professional violinist of the highest caliber, and nothing will stop him from achieving it. Not the prejudice ingrained in the classical music industry; not his mother, who wants him to quit making such a noise; not the fact that he cannot purchase a violin befitting his abilities.

Upon learning that the worn-out old violin belonging to his great-great-grandfather is really a valuable Stradivarius, all of his aspirations seem to be achievable. Ray and his violin take the globe by storm together. However, the violin is taken on the day of the prestigious and competitive Tchaikovsky Competition, which is known as the Olympics of classical music, and a five million dollar ransom note is put in its stead. Before it's too late, Ray has to put the puzzle pieces together in order to get his priceless Strad.

Ray's family is laying their own claim on the violin, and the descendants of the man who enslaved him are claiming it as their own. Ray is unsure of whom to trust or whether he will ever see his beloved violin again.
