The Worst Best Man author, who has sold millions of copies on USA Today, is back with another funny romantic comedy about two strangers who must pretend to date in order to escape being caught in a lie.

Solange Pereira is forced to assist her cousin, a wedding planner, on the big day of an unknown couple, only weeks before she is scheduled to leave Washington, DC, for more promising opportunities. It's a simple job—until she encounters something that makes her believe the two aren't meant to be. For a true-blue romantic, what can one do? Of course, crash the wedding. And make sure the gullible groom doesn't commit the worst error of his life.

Dean Chapman had a clear plan for his future. Just as he was going to cross off "start a family" and get set to "make partner," his convenient contemporary marriage collapsed. When Dean finds out that he would not be able to get an assignment that would lead to a promotion without having a significant other, he panics and declares his love for the lady who crashed his wedding. Sorry.

Dean's to-do list has expanded to include asking Solange to play his fake girlfriend. Solange agrees to go along since she somewhat regrets spoiling Dean's wedding. But as they playfully go on dates across the city, what began as a show for Dean's coworkers develops into a bond that neither Solange nor him can reject. They are such opposites that it is impossible for them to fall in love in real life, thus their whole relationship is a lie.
