Three to Get Deadly

For the whole month of January, Stephanie Plum, the sultry beauty in the powder blue Buick, is having a terrible hair day. She has been assigned the disagreeable duty of locating Mo Bedemier, the most cherished resident of Trenton, who was jailed for carrying a hidden weapon and failed to appear in court.

Even worse, Lula, a former hooker who worked as a file clerk before deciding to become a bounty hunter, is glued to her side. Lula is a large, black, and blonde woman who is eager to catch a thief in her car's trunk.

It's being courteous, this Morelli, the New Jersey vice officer with the slow-burning grin that erodes a girl's strongest resolve. What then does this signify? Has he fallen in love again? Is he using Steph in his police probe, taking advantage of her insatiable curiosity and her competitive Jersey demeanor, or is he controlling her?

The whole One for the Money team is back at it, including Ranger and Grandma Mazur. They are looking for Mo and following a trail of deceased drug dealers, which makes Stephanie think Mo may have exchanged his ice cream scoop for a vigilante pistol.

With all the humor and energy her fans have become used to, Stephanie spirals and tumbles through Three to Get Deadly, plagued by a catastrophic new hair color and a growing awareness that it's truly time to find a new profession.
