White Horse

There are some who are plagued by many ghosts.

Kari James, an urban Indian, has lived a life characterized by heavy music, torn jeans, Stephen King books, and the odd drink at the White Horse. However, Kari's purposeful ignorance of her history is put to the test when her cousin Debby discovers an ancient family bracelet that once belonged to her mother and unintentionally summons a terrible thing and her mother's spirit.

Kari has to find out what happened to her mother all those years ago since she is being pursued by this strange monster and is haunted by images of her mother. Her father can't assist her because of a vehicle accident that left him permanently incapacitated. Although it appears like Auntie Squeaker knows something, she isn't ready to share it all at once. Debby wants to help so much, but her husband's domineering behavior keeps getting in the way. Kari is forced to face her broken relationships, her longing for the one thing she has always wanted but could never have, and her thoughts about a childhood friend as she travels toward a reality long ignored by her family and police enforcement.
