Worth Dying For

In Nebraska's grain belt, there is terrible peril, and Jack Reacher walks straight into it. He first encounters the Duncans, a local tribe that has subdued a whole county by terrifying it into obedience. But Reacher can't let go of the decades-old, unresolved case of a missing kid.

The Duncans want Reacher gone, and they're not simply attempting to conceal old grudges. Even though the Duncan family poses a threat, they are just at the bottom of a criminal food chain that spans half of the globe. It would have been much more logical for Reacher to put some space between himself and the serious problems that are pursuing him. Reacher could not do it either.
